A project that took us away from our usual realms of business was the design, build and installation of a feature staircase for one of our clients. Hopkins had some prior experience of creating staircases having previously produced a staircase that incorporated glass treads and balustades for another client.
Hopkins Catering Equipment Ltd use computer aided design capability that means 3D images of the item can be produced so clients can in see what the finished article will look like so amendments can be made prior to the final sign off of the project and then the manufacture.
The brief asked for a wide, open, feature staircase which needed to keep the area light and spacious. The staircase needed to have functional hand rails, be light and airy but with a funky, modern design.
We opted for 60 mm round stainless steel tube curved with a gentle radius to give it flowing lines and straight supports with three 10 mm stainless steel rods running full length, on each side.
We followed this design through the house, with one running along side the stairs and the other separating the dinning area from the kitchen.
